This is an English forum so please only use the English language unless you're in a respective multi-languaged forum.

Before you register or post on this website, make sure you read and understand all of the following information.

What happens if I break the rules?

Consequences can range from a simple warning to a complete ban from the forums. Depending on what you do, the staff will decide an appropriate course of action.


The Rules

Avatars

Avatars are the pictures next to your posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width cannot exceed 150 pixels, the height cannot exceed 200 pixels, and the file size cannot be higher than 64 KB.

Signatures

A signature is a picture or text that appears under each of your posts. Signature images must be no wider than 420 pixels, and no taller than 150 pixels. The filesize should be no larger than 100k. Any signature images or text must be appropriate and not in violation of the rules. The limit is ONE signature image per user.

Advertising

Advertising for items or services, websites and any other kind of advertising is not allowed. This includes (but is not limited to) advertising in posts, banner ads, and private messages (PMs).

Amateur Moderation

We understand that members are just "trying to help," but please do not try and do a moderator's job for them. It's rude to the moderators, and it's rude to other members. If you notice something that violates the rules, send a PM to a moderator.

Bans

If you get banned, it means that you can't come back. You will still be able to view the forum, but you won't be able to register or post.

Content

Do not post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or sexually oriented material, or any other material which is in violation of any applicable laws. If you do, you may be warned or banned, depending on the material and whether we might have legal liability.

Discouraged Topics

We strongly discourage posting certain topics. Sometimes it's because they've been discussed many times before, or because they contribute nothing useful to the forum. We will probably lock these topics when we see them.

Double Posting

If you just posted and want to add something, don't reply again. Just use the "Edit" button to make any changes. If you post the same thing twice, use the "X" button to delete the second post.

Moderator Abuse

If you think that a moderator is being unfair or abusing their position, send a PM to our Administrators.

Moderatorship

Please don't ask if you can become a moderator. If we need a new moderator, we will probably ask someone who has been here a long time and has contributed thoughtful posts. Breaking any of the rules will diminish your chances of becoming a moderator, and since asking to become a moderator is against the rules, you shouldn't ask.

Old Topics

Before replying to a topic that isn't near the top of the page, please look at the date of the last reply. If it was more than a few weeks ago, think twice about replying. If you don't have anything to contribute or any new information to add, but you reply anyway, we will probably lock the topic. We do this because it's pointless to revive very old discussions, just to say "I agree!"

Piracy

If you're trying to obtain bootleg merchandise, anime, pirated software, etc, don't do it here. It's against the law.

Plagiarism

Copying and pasting information without crediting the original source is wrong. Don't try to pass off someone else's words as your own.

Political/Moral Beliefs

We don't want to push our beliefs on anyone, and we welcome members of different beliefs to use this forum. Please be tolerant of other members' personal, political, moral, and religious beliefs, even if you disagree with them.

Privacy

Any information you enter on this site, along with your IP (Internet Protocol) address(es), will be stored in a central database. Some of this information will be available to anyone. To find out what information is publicly viewable, click on the "Profile" link once you are logged in to the forum. We will not disclose your information to anyone, but we are not responsible for any security breach that may result in your information being accessed or compromised.

Private Messaging

Private Messaging (PM) is a function of the forum which lets members communicate directly with each other. It has many great uses, but please don't assume that other members are interested in randomly chatting with you through PMs. PMs are like the forum's own e-mail system, not an instant messaging service. Harrassing or abusive PMs are not allowed, but if you receive such a PM, please do not delete it. Let the Administrators or our Moderating team know, leave the PM in your inbox, and it will be dealt with. Don't reply to an abusive PMs, it just makes things worse.

Sharing Files

Regarding sharing of movies, music, programs, etc- don't do it. It happens all the time on the internet, but sharing copyrighted material is illegal. If you want to do it elsewhere, we don't care. But file-sharing is not allowed here.

Spoilers

A spoiler is information about a later part of a story or a key plot twist, which other members might not know about yet. Please provide proper warning before discussing spoilers. Also, do not put any spoilers in your profile or signature.

Text Colors, Styles, & Sizes

Please don't post in bright colored text, use all CAPS, or make posts in all bold/italic/etc. It does make your posts stand out, but it makes them annoying and difficult to read. Smaller and larger text sizes may be used in reasonable moderation, but do not make your whole post in it.

Each section of the forums is for specific topics. Please post in the appropriate section.
